National Oral Health Programme

The program was included in PIP during 26-5- 2014

The districts selected in Assam are Barpeta and Kamrup.

Activities:

This activities will be conducted through word of mouth, rural outdoor methods and mass media: electronic and outdoor activities.

Training:

Training modules would be developed by Centre for Dental Education and Research (CDER), AIIMS, New Delhi which is declared as the Centre for National Excellence for Oral Health. TOT would be conducted at AIIMS for State level trainers of Assam. Two such trainers will be selected from the Regional Dental college.The State level trainers would provide training to 2 district level trainers from Kamrup and Barpeta districts. These district level trainers will impart training to all the health care personnel of the district . National Oral Health program will also be linked with other existing health care facilities.

Financial Support

A District will be supported with equipments and man-power for a Dental Unit. The unit cost has been worked out. [Equipments @ Rs. 7 lakh for each dental unit and manpower and consumables @ Rs.13.4 lakh/year]
