Trauma Centers in Assam

As per 11th Five Year Plan, Government of India has sanctioned and granted in Phase I to set up 7 no.s of Trauma Centers in Medical Colleges and District Hospitals of Assam.

The present status of Trauma Centres in Assam is as follows.

  • Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) – Level-II
  • Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) - Level-II
  • Civil Hospital, Nagaon - Level-II
  • District Hospital, Nalbari - Level-III
  • Civil Hospital, Haflong - Level–III (Not Functioning)
  • Civil Hospital, Bongaigaon - Level-III
  • Civil Hospital, Diphu - Level-III
 

Following Trauma Centers are proposed for up gradation from Level-II to Level-I

  • Guwahati Medical College Hospital(GMCH)
  • Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH)
  • Assam Medical College Dibrugarh (AMCH) (Yet to be designated as Trauma Centre)
 

Following Trauma Centers are proposed for up gradation from Level-III to Level–II

  • Civil Hospital, Bongaigaon
  • Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) (Yet to be designated as Trauma Centre)
  • Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMC) Barpeta (Yet to be designated as Trauma Centre)
  • Tula Ram Bafna Hospital, Amingaon, Kamrup District (Yet to be designated as Trauma Centre)
 

The Government has sent a proposal for 30 no.s of Trauma Care Centers in hospitals near to the National Highways.
